Well Thad shamed me into updating my blog.

I was in Atlanta for two weeks from Jan. 29 through Feb. 9 installing and testing new software on a Linux server. I worked a couple of 70+ hour weeks so I was pretty tired at the end of that time. I got to watch the super bowl in the conciere's lounge at the hotel.

Aunt Janet was here visiting for a few days from Feb. 7 to Feb. 12th. She dropped Bert off at one of his nieces in Fort Lauderdale and then came up here. She went on a short cruise with Uncle Jim to the Bahamas to see how see liked it.

I taught SS last week and a couple weeks before. The first lesson I taught was on sex and pornograhpy. Interesting subject for a bunch of people in the 50+ age group. This past week was a little calmer subject - getting out of your comfort zone in serving God.

I was in Miami on Sunday night thru Wednesday. I was away on Valentines day but I did send mom flowers so I got partial credit.

Friday I have been going to a men's Bible study at 7 AM. We are going through a book "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge. It is a combination video and discussion group. Todd would like this since it is alot of wilderness stuff filmed in Colorado.

M0m had some tests this week. Sleep acnea on Wednesday night and ultrasound on her thyroid on Friday.

Mark and Amy are coming next week for a week or so. Mark is in between duty stations.

wow I had almost stopped checking to see if there was anything posted.

Glad to hear that you are teaching SS again. That is a tough topic for any age group! It sounds like it was a preperation for the following weeks lesson. Maybe you should have done them in reverse order.

I have the whole Wild at heart Multi media kit. But i don't know if I would teach it straight up verbatum or not. Let me know what you think when its over. According to him most of my problems are your fault. What do you think about that? -Todd

Here here for Thad and the power of shame. Hey, I'll bet Eldridge hits that somewhere in his book. :)

I read the trilogy of Eldridge books(thx Todd) and found them challenging. Wild @ Heart is much like the others, as I recall, in dealing with passivity. There is no place for it! I agree. I have to side with Todd though (I hate typing that). I wouldn't swallow all of the stuff that Eldridge writes.

Did you develop any notes, powerpoint slides, discussion starters, etc. for your SS lessons or was this part of the latest SS campaign and written by one of your pastors? Two key lessons -- God must really like you to entrust you with such topics! :)

Thanks for updating, thanks for growing,
Mike

Hey while Mark is there set him down and show him how to blog! Then smack him and call him a punk.

That is a good book Thad, I also reccomend "the Purity principle" by Randy Alcorn as well for a shorter alternative.
