sharing God's Love

Since I changed the title of my blog. I figured I should put that in practice. Visitation on Monday night. Short visit at the door with a middle aged lady. Two interesting comments - her response to "In your opinion, what does it take to get to heaven?" - being a good person. People are very open here in Florida. The second interesting comment was regarding Sunday School. We gave her some literature about the church with Sunday School class schedules. She said "I don't have any small children, my youngest is 26". The misconception that SS is only for kids.

Why aren't more people being saved? We aren't sharing enough. I'm as guilty as anyone of this.

We didn't get a chance to share the Gospel with this lady but did leave a tract in the material that we left and hopefully left a favorable impression of the church and Christians.

Dad,
THanks for 1.going out on evangelistic pursuits 2. sharing your stories. Both comments are very typical.
People are very open in Fla but open to what? Open to some watered down, self-reliant, self-preservative religious practice to get them to heaven. WRONG!
As far as why people aren't getting saved, isn't it more accurate to say that they aren't getting saved because they aren't responding to the invitation? Romans 1 seems to suggest that there is a wake-up bell inside that is going off that they are ignoring or attempting to disable every day!
You probably won't leave a favorable impression if she realizes that you see her as "lost". Thanks for sharing the grace of God graciously. We must be winsome to win some! :)

THad,
could Dad's team knocking be the last piece of the puzzle or another part of that surrounding the person with multiple Christ-ometers topped out?
